6/6/08 Women's Basketball Recruits Tab Multiple Honors Moraga, CA - Head coach Paul Thomas and the Saint Mary's women's basketball team should be more than pleased with their 2008-09 incoming class, as four future Gaels have garnered multiple awards in their respective divisions, leagues, and areas. Alex Carbonel, Katie Batlin, Ashlee Smith, and Amber Coatney will all come in as freshman next season, after being recognized following their final high school seasons.
Moraga, CA - The 2007-08 Saint Mary's women's basketball team made great strides this season, improving their RPI by 56 spots from last year, and finishing at 127. In addition to lowering their RPI, the Gaels participated in a much stronger West Coast Conference, as the WCC finished as the eighth strongest Division I conference.
San Diego, CA - Saint Mary's women's basketball was unable to advance to the WCC Championship, as Gonzaga displayed why they were named the regular season champs, topping the Gaels 84-61. With the loss Saint Mary's finishes the season 15-17 overall, 6-8 in the regular season, and 1-1 in the WCC tournament.
